Monkey Wrench @ Charlies Inn

Posted in Uncategorized on December 23, 2009 by wisconsinlivemusic

I’ve been taking a photography course at the local tech school and our final project was self assigned, and one of the choices was a documentary. This sounded fun so I took a look on the net and saw a great band was playing locally Saturday night. I emailed Erik from Monkey Wrench and asked if he cared if I hung out a took photos. The band was cool with it so, heres some of the photos.

Monkey Wrench has such a great set list, and they nail all their songs. If you have been a fan of alternative and hard rock from the 90’s to now, you would love this band!

TUGG @ the Arterial bar – LaCrosse

We went to see T.U.G.G. play at the Arterial bar and they put on a heck of a good show, unfortunately the place was totally packed so I wasn’t able to get any good photos but I did manage to get a little video of them covering 3 Little Birds by Bob Marley.

T.U.G.G. – Slightly Stoopid and the Aggrolites @ The Rave in Milwaukee

Saturday Kathy and I were able to join the band TUGG and about 50 others for a bus trip to the Rave in Milwaukee. TUGG was one of the supporting bands and the Aggrolites opened for Slightly Stoopid. I’m not overly familiar with the Aggrolites, I know I like the work they did with Tim Armstrong on his solo album. We split out early on their set to see TUGG play on one of the other stages.

TUGG had an amazing set!

Slightly Stoopid- Last time I saw these guys was in a small club in Madison Wisconsin back in 2005 I think it was. Its amazing that they have went from having 200 people at their shows to 2000.  They had the Rave packed and the crowd was just nuts. Personally, I like being able to listen to the music and this venue isn’t very good for that since you have to stand and the acoustics pretty much suck here.

We tried to get photo passes for the show but we were ignored so we just took in the Canon G11 Point and shoot.

Big thanks to the guys from TUGG for organizing the trip!

Kathy and I are hopping on a bus Saturday morning with the guys from Tugg and going to see Slightly Stoopid at the Rave in Milwaukee! This will be wicked for sure!

The Last Vegas

Posted in Uncategorized on November 11, 2009 by wisconsinlivemusic

Last Thursday I’m driving home from work and I’m listening to the local radio station interview a band. The band is the Last Vegas from Chicago and they happen to be swinging through town and playing at the Warehouse nightclub tonight. As soon as I get home, I check these guys out on the internet to see if its something I’d like to see. Well, after watching their video for I’m Bad and I realized I’d be an idiot to miss this!

So I gather up some photo gear and some photos that I have to drop off with a client and head to the Warehouse. http://warehouserocks.com/

I could spend all night just looking at all the concert posters here! Some huge names have came through here before.

These guys are certainly rock stars, keep an eye out for them!

These guys rock, I was deaf til 3pm on Friday. They hung out and talked to fans after the show, pretty cool.
